So, I had a mini Lush haul, but when it comes to skincare, you have to have a testing period to see how your skin reacts to a certain product. I’ve been using this mask for some time so now I can share my experience.
I am a mask addict, and lately a home facial addict where I have to have a calming mask after I make mess of my face. I use it once a week.
WHO IS IT FOR?
The Cupcake is made for teenage skin, spotty skin and oily skin. Mine is spotty, but not oily. Combination skin.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
It has Rassoul Mud which deep cleanses the impurities and de-greases. Essential oils of Pepermint (Mentha Piperita) and Spearmint (Mentha Spicata) have antibacterial, antiviral effects which are necessary to fight breakouts. Sandalwood Oil (Santalum Album) calms the irritations, Cocoa Butter (Theobroma Cacao) hydrates and nourishes the skin.
HOW DOES IT LOOK?
It’s thick, smells like Cocoa, dark brown with traces of Linseeds & Cocoa Butter.
HOW DOES IT FEEL?
I definitely feel the cooling effect of the Pepermint. Also, this mask is kept in the fridge because the lack of conservatives so that gives the extra cool effect on my skin. And I absolutely love it. Especially if I use it after I’ve manually cleansed my skin and got rid off all the breakouts. This cooling mask soothes the redness and inflammations. It dries in 5-1o mins but it doesn’t tighten the skin like green clay i.e..
WHAT ARE THE RESULTS?
It does calm the redness, and removes all the bacteria. That’s how you prevent more spots and breakouts to occur. Sometimes I even notice how it dries out the inflammations, and speeds up the drying of breakouts.
For best results use a calming and balancing cream after the mask, to hydrate the skin. Always hydrate, even if your skin is oily all the time. You must preserve the natural layer of sebum. If you remove it with harsh skin care, the skin will produce more, making itself more oily and prone to impurities.
